1. Essential storage and requested features
Essential storage supports a service you request, such as signing in, keeping a protected session, pairing a phone scanner, recovering an account, managing a private support conversation or saving your cookie choice. Security and request controls can also rely on essential technical information. These uses are separate from optional marketing-site analytics.
Staff and customer session cookies are specific to their application workflows. Sensitive session cookies are configured as HttpOnly where supported so ordinary page scripts cannot read them, with secure and same-site protections appropriate to the workflow. Their lifetime varies by account and session type, and the server can expire or revoke access sooner. They are not advertising cookies.
| Storage | Purpose | Lifetime or scope |
|---|---|---|
| Account and private workflow cookies | Staff/customer authentication, paired scanner authorization and private support or recovery access. | Until the relevant session expires or is revoked; varies by workflow and account. |
| cardcounter_cookie_preferences_v1 | Local storage recording whether you allowed optional analytics, the preference version and its expiry. | Up to 180 days on the public website, or until you clear or replace the choice. |
| Appearance and interface preferences | Chosen light/dark appearance and supported display or workspace preferences. | Until changed or cleared; scope depends on the website or Windows user. |
| Local work drafts | Limited recovery of supported unfinished work in the browser. | Until replaced, completed or cleared by that feature. This is not offline financial processing. |
2. Optional Google Analytics
Google Analytics is used only on the canonical public website at https://cardcounterpos.com when you allow analytics. Its loader is blocked before permission. Rejecting optional cookies keeps it blocked; we do not send consent-status or cookieless analytics pings to Google before you allow it.
When allowed, analytics can receive page and referral information, visit timestamps, browser/device information, approximate location inferred by Google and randomly assigned cookie identifiers. It helps us evaluate public website use. We do not supply staff identity, shop customer records, card photos or payment details as analytics events.
The tag’s advertising storage, advertising user data and personalized-advertising consent remain denied. Google signals and ad personalization are disabled in the tag configuration. The tag is not installed by this public-site flow on staff workspaces, shop customer websites, local development or preview domains.
| Cookie or provider | Use | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga and _ga_*; Google Analytics | First-party identifiers and visit/session information for optional public-site analytics. | Configured for up to 180 days, subject to browser limits and earlier deletion or withdrawal. |
| Google tag requests | Loads the analytics library and sends allowed public-site measurements to Google. | Starts only after consent; provider-side retention follows the relevant Google service settings and terms. |
3. Make or change your choice
Choose Reject optional or Allow analytics in the public-site banner. Both options are available without navigating through extra screens. You can also open Cookie preferences to review the categories and save your choice. Essential storage cannot be switched off in that panel because it supports requested features and remembers the preference itself.
Open Cookie preferences from the footer at any time to withdraw analytics consent. This disables subsequent collection by the public-site tag on that page and clears accessible first-party Google Analytics cookies. It cannot erase measurements already sent to Google or cookies on an independent provider’s domain. Data-rights requests are explained in the Privacy policy.
A Global Privacy Control signal keeps optional analytics disabled, even if an earlier stored choice allowed it. We ask again when a choice expires or the preference version changes. If your browser blocks local storage, the choice can apply for that visit but may need to be made again on the next visit. Choices do not automatically carry across devices or browsers.
4. Browser and external-provider controls
You can also clear or block cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Blocking essential storage can prevent sign-in, scanner pairing, private links or draft recovery. Clearing it does not delete saved shop transactions, cancel a subscription or disconnect a provider account.
Opening a payment provider, marketplace, map service or carrier site is subject to that provider’s own storage and privacy controls. A shop’s customer website is operated for that shop, and the shop is responsible for its own notices and optional tracking decisions. Our public-site preference panel does not change another website’s controls.
5. Policy updates
We review this page when the public website’s storage or tracking changes. A new optional purpose requires appropriate notice and consent rather than silently reusing an older choice. The review date appears at the top of this page. Contact us if you observe unexpected tracking or cannot change your preference.
